Neerja Modi School hosted the XIV Annual Sports Day of Pre- Primary and Grade I. As an educational institution we recognize and appreciate the fact that the physical development and sports play an important part towards academic learning. About 800 children of the preprimary and Grade I school participated in the event.
The event began with the traditional Torch lighting ceremony on the tune of ‘CHARIOTS OF FIRE. Budding athletes from Preprimary and Grade I were the torch bearers.
The meet was formally declared open by Ms. Kanak Khanna. Children took oath for fair play and sportsmen spirit.
The theme for the Preprimary Sports Day was Animals. The students and the races looked very colorful, interesting and fun filled. The tasks in the races were age appropriate, carefully planned and then selected for the children. The highlight of the event were Reindeer race, Cow race, Sheep race, Cat race and Zebra race. Grade I participated in lot of skill based races like ball and cone, hoopla skipping, army race, sprints and relays.
All the participants enjoyed all the encouragement and attention, not to mention that everyone gave their best shot. Winners were awarded the medals and certificates.
Parents also enthusiastically participated in the races organized for them.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks.
